Super Bowl Chat and Change

It's another cold one out there, but to put it in perspective, in looking at the thermometer I see it's 25 degrees and I'm thinking "That's not so bad."  The last week or so proved it can be much worse.  Also on the plus side, no new snow to talk about other than a few stray flurries.

So, the subject on everyone's mind this morning....the Super Bowl.  Did you watch?  I did, but not as avidly as years when my Steelers are playing.  If you know anything about football rivalries you know the one between the Steelers and the Ravens runs deep.  It kills me to be glad they won.  I will admit it's not for "good" reasons like they were representing the same region as the Steelers or anything.  Nope.  I'm glad they won because that means the Steelers are still the only team with SIX Super Bowl wins!

Okay, now we can talk about the ads.  What was your favorite?  Which one did you really dislike?  Which one did you think was just plain stupid?  I don't know that I hated any of them.  Quite a few fell into the stupid category.  As for favorite, it's a tie between these two:

In other news, I'm feeling a need for change.  I like my blog and it's served me well for about 2 years now, but either I'm getting bored or it's beginning to feel just a wee bit dated.  I'm browsing around the sites that offer free templates and I may find one I like, but then again (and after nearly 12 years of blogging I can't believe I'm saying this) I just might pay someone to design a new look for me.  I'm contemplating a name change, too.  Something just a little "catchier."  First, though, I have to figure out my purpose here....because that's soooo easy.  LOL

If you have any ideas or suggestions on design, designers, template sites, focus, purpose, or pretty much anything......please, please, pleeeeeease share them.

Friday Fragging 2012 Style

Normally, I just love Tim Tebow and wish him and the Broncos all the best.  I think he is a fine, upstanding young man that many boys who look to athletes as their heroes would do well to emulate.  All the fuss and hoopla surrounding his faith is not his doing, but that of the fans and media, tho' I don't think it's all bad that people are seeing someone who is not afraid to put God first in his life.

That is normally.  This week Tim and the Broncos are facing my beloved Steelers (if you cut me, do I not bleed black & gold?) in the wild card game for a spot in the play-offs.  I have to be rooting for my boys.  There is lots of good-humored joshing going on over on Facebook this week.  A few of my favorites:

Soooo.....yesterday I asked one of the 6th grade boys on the bus if he'd ever been diagnosed as hyperactive. (Hey, he was bouncing off the walls, talking a mile a minute, and just acting like he was on the biggest sugar high ever.)  He looks at me and asks..........are you ready for this......

"Does that have anything to do with black people and yogurt?"

I kid you not.  It took about 10 minutes to figure out that when he heard "hyperactive", he thought Activia yogurt in whose commercials there is apparently a black woman eating the stuff.

What 11-year-old boy knows about Activia?

Sure am loving this amazing weather.  Temperatures near 50 degrees and lots of sunshine today.  In January!  More of the same tomorrow.  It certainly makes it easier to avoid those winter blues.

Well, lots to do this morning before I have to go back to work for the afternoon runs so I'd best get to it.  Have a wonderful weekend and .....

Baby, it's cold outside!  The actual temperature on the thermometer outside the kitchen window is -6!!  That just ain't right.  The schools are all on a 2-hour delay because the windchill is something like -21.  Still.....I'm awash in a warm glow this morning.  Why?  'Cause who is going to the Super Bowl?

Yeah, that's right.  The boys in Black & Gold.  They're going to send Green Bay packin'!
