Thankful Thursday

Since the untimely demise of Thursday Thunks I've been floundering about looking for something to post on Thursdays.  I've finally decided to follow in my friend Ellen's footsteps and institute a Thankful Thursday spot, wherein I will list a few things I am thankful for....and hopefully remind you to take a minute and appreciate all the good things you've got going.

So, for today my list of things I am thankful for includes:

  • Working for a bus company that lets the drivers decide for themselves whether or not it is safe to drive on certain roads when the weather is bad.
  • Chinese take-out at the end of a long, long day.
  • A husband who supports all my "great" ideas without so much as a single eyeroll.
  • Furnaces and whole-house heat.....I'd have been a terrible pioneer.
  • The son of a friend who has, for now, been taken off the list for a liver transplant because a recent surgery and medication are beginning to work.  He is 21 and a living miracle as it is, having been born without ducts in his liver (most babies born with the condition never see their fifth birthday).
  • My friend and pastor (one in the same) who encourages and challenges me.
  • My Nookcolor that lets me keep the six books I am reading at the same time all together and available at the touch of a button.
  • The hand-knit slippers my mom made me that allow me to enter the livingroom with a Risky Business slide.
  • Yankee Candle's MacIntosh scent.  Yum!
  • Dove chocolate bars
  • A cold Coke first thing in the morning.
  • The 6-CD changer in my car.
  • Longjohns
  • The person who invented the straightening iron for hair.
  • Sweaters
  • Steven Tyler for keeping American Idol at least a little bit interesting this year.
What are you feeling thankful for?

Since I've started doing this regularly, it makes much gloom go away. When I HAVE to make a list (a self imposed rule), I am forced to see there is much more in life to love and feel grateful for than there is to bemoan!

Loved reading your list.

My grandkids and the Waffle House.

Ellen....I think that's the idea behind "Attitude of Gratitude." The more you make yourself do it, the more it becomes a habit that comes naturally.

Rochelle....I wanted chocolate one day and Tim brought me one of those by "mistake." M-mmmm.

Coffeypot....We don't have a Waffle House. :(

Now that is a great list! And I have a husband like that too. God bless them.

I am thankful for my Amoeba who was attacked by a rogue wave in Hawaii and came home with a suitcase full of soaked clothes and a destroyed cell phone -- but he came home!

Debbie....now I just have to get my own eye-rolling under control. :/

Quilly....Oh my goodness! What happened? I'm glad he's okay!
