It's Okay Tuesday - No Sympathy Edition

On Tuesdays I've taken to joining in with Whispering Writer on a an idea she borrowed from Glamour Magazine. She calls it It's Okay Tuesdays. It's when we can take a moment and tell ourselves that those quirky things we think and do are...well....OKAY!

HEY, IT'S OKAY....

...to maybe not have quite as much sympathy for your husband's kidney stone pain as you should, when he's just pumping himself full of pain meds and going to work instead of doing what he should be doing to get better.  Especially when he was virtually incapacitated by pain last night yet refused to go back to the ER....and you're the bad guy for being mad.

...to be really cheesed about Casey Anthony's family making money off a terrible tragedy.  I cannot believe "Grandma" was already meeting with a financial planner.

...to be glad the nanny Casey Anthony accused of kidnapping her daughter is taking her to court.  Her lawyer promised (I saw the interview) that he will be asking the hard questions about Casey's behavior, where she was, what she was doing, etc.

...to be excited as a squirrel on a nut farm about the Toby Keith VIP tickets finally going on sale tomorrow.

...to still be waffling about whether or not you want to go back to driving a school bus in the fall, though decisions must be made soon if you're going to recertify your license before it's expired.

...to wonder whatever happened to sunny summer days.  It seems like it's always overcast...unless it's like a million degrees.

...to wish you had done your Bible study lesson because then you could kick back this afternoon with a chilled glass of raspberry wine and watch Dirty Dancing the ultimate summer chick flick for the umpteenth time.

Personally, I keep watching Broken Bridges over & over.....I just like it. LOL

I like that one, too. I don't know why I don't own it. I own Beer For My Horses. :/

Gloomy days? I keep telling ya, Stacy to move to So. Cal, but NOOOOOO, you insist in living in a place with a hubby who has kidney stones (I've had three and they hurt worse than having a baby, so I empathize with him). You made me smile today and wish I could sit there with you on a porch, drinking rasberry iced tea.

But if I move to California for the sunshine I'd then have to worry about the "Big One" that's going to drop California off into the Pacific. LOL

I've had one kidney stone so I know how bad they hurt. I'm just ticked because he won't do what he's supposed to do...and with both kidneys full of gravel we're probably going to be doing this again in the future.

Recertify, and they you'll be ready if you want to be. It's not like you're a contracted employee, right? Couldn't you start the year and move on should something better happen?

Have you considered working in a library? My favorite part time job ever was working in a public library. Favorite full time job ever was teacher's aide. (Less stress than being a teacher!)

Not that you asked!

Ellen...I'm going to recertify. I'll probably take the test this week or next.

In a library would be cool, but our libraries keep losing funding. They are cutting staff and hours all the time. It sucks. I've actually been thinking about Barnes & Noble, but don't know if I want to deal with working nights, weekends, and holidays.

For a change, I'm with Tim! lol Shocked? I HATE doctors and have been eating Advil like candy for months. Wish I had the pills he's getting! lol
Why are you thinking about quitting your job?

4:00 in the morning is sucking more and more every year and the winter stuff doesn't thrill me either. I probably won't. At least not for a while or until something else comes along. I could live with working summers but don't want to get stuck with nights weekends, and holidays. :/

I've figured out that when my husband is really belly aching and boo-hooing, he's pretty fine. It's when he's quiet and laying around that he's really not feeling well. But yeah, I'm not always the most sympathetic.

What would you do if you don't drive the bus? Do you have to work? Because if I didn't have to, I don't think I would.

Amy...He's not belly aching. By the time he gets home he isn't doing anything but grimmacing. It's that he's not seeing the urologist when he obviously needs to that is bugging me.

We could probably manage if I didn't work, but we took on two car payments in the past year so I don't really want to take any chances and it's nice doing a little bit better than managing, you know? I would love to work some place like Barnes & Noble...it's the schedule that scares me away...nights, weekends, holidays. If I could get paid for ministry that would be awesome, too, but that's not likely.
