Hodgepodge on a Scale of 1-10

It's time for the Wednesday Hodgepodge with our lovely and gracious hostess, Joyce, from This Side of the Pond.  This is a blog hop, so if you'd like to join in the fun head over to Joyce's blog for the rules and to sign up.

Okay, now let's get to it!

1. Have you ever been 'asked' to report for jury duty? Were you chosen to serve? If not, were you happy or disappointed?
~ No, I've never been called for jury duty and I'm a little disappointed.  I think it would be quite interesting.

2. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being very), how mechanically inclined are you? Give an example to back up your answer.
~ Um, I'm not, like, totally blond about mechanical things, but I'm not what I'd call mechanically inclined, either.  I'm of the mind-set that there are trained professionals to handle nearly any mechanical situation...why would I want to do their job and further depress the economy?

3. Beets-cabbage-cauliflower-butternut squash....of the four, which is your favorite fall vegetable?
~ Definitely cabbage.  Love it with potatoes and ham.  Love sour kraut.  Love it thrown in with a roast or in soup.

4. What do you recommend to overcome self-pity?
~ Prayer, let God help you.  Exercise, it makes you feel stronger.  Volunteer, it's hard to feel sorry for yourself when you're helping someone worse off than you are.

5. Do you enjoy classical music?
~ Once in a while during the cold winter months I will curl up with a good book, a hot cup of tea, my dogs and I'll tune the radio into a classical station.  Other than that....not really.

6. October is National Book Month...what's on your reading list this month?
~ Nothing but the books for my seminary classes.

7. What is your idea of 'cute'?
~ Something that is visually pleasing and gives you pleasure.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~ Invest in people. Souls are eternal. Count your blessings, and share with someone less fortunate. Be a blessing to someone today.

October is National Book Month? I wonder if I'll even squeeze one book in. Since school started, I haven't even picked up a hold at the library.

I'm not a student, my students get to read for fun!

;)

I like your logic in #2. I don't want to do anything to harm the economy either : )

I just put sauerkraut in my crock pot with a port roast-yum!

Ellen...my books are interesting, but definitely not for fun. I don't know if I will take another class next semester. I may just wait till summer.

Rochelle...aww, you made my day. :) And by the way, I consider you a blessing, too.

Dawn...Thank you. Now if only I was better at taking my own advice.

Joyce...far be it from me to take work away from someone. lol M-mmmm, I bet your house smells amazing!

Love the reminder to be a blessing to someone today. I'll have to keep that in mind on a regular basis.

Thanks for stopping by my blog on Wednesday Hodgepodge! ;-)
