Gadget & Patriotism Hodgepodge

1. Of all the tools and gadgets you own which do you most enjoy using?
~ I'd be hard pressed to choose just one.  I'm a total kitchen gadget junkie.  The Pampered Chef loves to see me coming.  If I have to choose just one it's a little thing from Pampered Chef that has a magnet and hangs on the frig so you can always find it.  It opens soda-type bottles, beer-type bottles, and lifts the tabs on cans.  I have three of them just in case they stop making them.

2. When (if ever) is impatience a virtue?
~ It's probably only a virtue if you can harness it to motivate yourself.

3. What temperature do you keep your thermostat set to in winter? Do you have another way to heat your house besides a furnace of some type?
~ Our thermostat is set to 68 at night, 71 during the day, and 72 during the evening (hey, I get cold in the evenings).  We also have a pellet stove, which I love, because it is constant heat rather than the furnace's heat up the house, let the house cool down, heat the house up again method.

4. Do/did you have a close relationship with any of your grandparents?
~ I wasn't close to my dad's mom because she was a lot older and had had a stroke or two and then she had a massive stroke when I was 10 or 11 which left her paralyzed and unable to speak.  I was very close to my mom's parents since I lived with them the first couple of years of my life.

5. When did you last have a family portrait taken?
~ Professionally done?  It's got to be 10 or 11 years, now.

6. What does the word patriotism mean to you?
~ Loving my country and being proud of it inspite of its faults, supporting the military, showing respect to it's leaders and defenders (whether or not I agree with them politically), getting involved, voting, trying to make a difference.  It means a LOT to me, but I'm trying not to write a book.

7. Do you like to play cards and if so, what's your favorite card game?
~ We play cards with our friends fairly often.  I don't know what it's called...some type of gin.  I grew up playing penny ante poker with my parents and the other adults in the neighborhood.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~ The "season" has officially begun.  I'm coming down with my first (several more will surely follow) cold of the school year.

I almost said my little Pampered Chef spatula for #1...the one that fits into the corner of a casserole dish. I use it several times a week it seems.

Feel better!

I have a Pampered Chef kitchen! I think that so many people have such nice cameras today that they can take nice pictures themselves.
Just say no to that cold!!

Pampered Chef has some cool stuff.

Hope you recover from your cold quickly.

I'm a kitchen gadget junkie too ... but I rarely cook anymore so buying all those expensive gadgets is a tad impractical! Not that being impractical stops me!

I just completed a Pampered Chef order. I've been wanting a baking stone for years, and this month my friend is donating her commission to Pancreatic Cancer research...so it seemed like a good time to break down and spend.
