30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 30

It's hard to believe we've made it to the end of November and the end of the 30 Days of Thankfulness.  This is such a good exercise and I love participating in it one way or another every year.  I don't want to stop being so intentional about gratitude so even though I haven't started to read the book yet (it's first on the list as soon as I wrap up my class work next week), I'm going to jump on Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts bandwagon and next Monday will start my list of 1000 every day things I find to be grateful for.

Anyway.....

Today, on this last day of November, I am thankful for Daylight Savings Time (yes, I know I am quite possibly the only person in the known universe who is).  I love the dark, cozy evenings that force everyone inside to spend time together.  I love how cozy and comfortable the house feels with candles glowing, Christmas lights twinkling, and the smells of rich, hearty winter meals and holiday baking filling the air.  I love snuggling on the couch, whether it's with my honey watching television or my doggies reading a book.  I love having Megan's friends fill the kitchen with their laughter as they play games and eat (me out of house and home).  It's the best time of the year and I love every minute of it.....at least until January when I'll have had my fill and be ready for the sun's return.

Hi Stacy! I will look forward to hearing about the book 1000 Gifts- I too, am wrapping up a Giving Thanks Challenge! Maybe I should start that...I have heard about it but have not really looked into it yet! Thanks for that! Oh, I am having a giveaway over at my Blog (Beneath The Surface) which is part of an Inspiring Women series I am doing- You might want to stop by and check it out! Blessings, Dawn

Ellen...I know, but I'll be ready for it. It won't return until at least March. It's the time of the year when I have to be on guard against seasonal depression. :P

Modern Day Disciple...I can't wait to start reading 1000 Gifts. I heard Ann speak and met her at the Relevant '11 Conference back in October. If she writes like she speaks (and by all accounts, she does) then it will be good. A giveaway? I'll shoot over there right now. :) Thanks for visiting!
