30 Days of Thankfulness - Days 19 & 20

Tim and I took off for a little town a couple of hours north of here yesterday.  We'd been there about 10 years ago and remembered it being full of antique shops and a huge antique mall.  Memories didn't fail.  We started in an architectural salvage place, hoping to find a stained-glass window for our church.  No luck with that, but I saw and fell in love with an enormous, antique, cherry corner cupboard.  It's the kind of thing you see in the magazines, but never expect to own.  It didn't have a price tag on it, but I figured a minimum of $2000.  Still, I just had to ask and nearly had to sit down when the owner gave me a price under $1000....and they have lay-away!  Tim told me not to pass on "the deal of the century" so we put a deposit on it.  I am so excited and grateful that we can swing it.  Now I just have to wait for Christmas.

Today, I am thankful that we have no plans, no commitments, and nowhere to be.  We can spend the whole day at home taking care of the little things that need doing (laundry) or not much of anything at all.

I hope to have a week that's mostly like your last sentence. Call the doctor, paint my nails, vacuum, laundry, nap, read...

Glad you got away.
