Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Share something you loved about your Christmas Day.
~ Everything was very low-key and casual this year....much less stress for me in the preparations.

2. You get to put five items in a time capsule to be opened in 100 years, what items would you choose and why?
~ Who is opening this capsule?  What I'd choose depends on whether it's for family or the world, in general.  In a personal capsule I'd put: photos,  journal, iPod with the music I'm listening to, a copy of my hard-drive, and newspapers or magazines with significant headlines.  I'd choose those so those in the future could have an idea of who I am, the life I lead, and the world I live in.

3. What do you like on a cracker?
~ Cheese and pepperoni for nibbling, peanut butter and jelly with soup.

4. Do you make resolutions at the start of a new year? How'd that work out for you this past year?
~ No, I stopped doing that a while ago.  I never keep them for long and not keeping them just makes me feel bad.  I just have good intentions now.

5. What's a song or song lyric you'll associate with 2011?
~ This one....it's such a brain worm!

6. How will you ring in the new year?
~ Our church meets on Saturday evenings, so we'll do that first then we have friends and maybe some family coming over.

7. What is something you look forward to in 2012?
~ Getting my behind back in gear and losing weight!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~ I have mixed feelings about 2011.  I didn't hate it, but I'm not really sorry to see it go, either.  Mostly I am looking ahead to 2012 and the opportunities it will bring.  My motto for 2012?  Carpe diem!

That Toby Keith does sing some memorable songs. I am glad that 2011 is over, it hasn't been the best of years. But 2012, a clean slate, a new beginning. Love Carpe diem.

I love me some Toby! LOL No, 2011 wasn't the best of years, but since I've definitely had worse....here's to a much better 2012 for all of us.

I have not heard the song, only many, many references to it! Decided to keep my streak going, so I didn't listen.

Kind of like my avoidance of Avatar and Titanic...

LOL...The song is from Toby so I HAD to listen. I haven't seen Avatar or Titanic yet, either.

I'm ready for 2011 to be a memory. Bring on 2012!

Mary...thanks for visiting me! It is funny and you wait...you'll be singing it. It is the biggest brain worm song ever!

Love your motto for 2012! Last Spring, my classes studied poetry that had this theme. It was very interesting to get the students' take on it!

Good luck with the weight loss. I know this isn't an easy endeavor for most people!
