Mastering the Wednesday Hodgepodge

The Wednesday Hodgpodge comes courtesy of Joyce @ From This Side of the Pond.  It's just a fun bloggy hop of random questions that gives everyone the chance to meet new friends and find out stuff you didn't know.  Just follow the links to Joyce's place to join in or see the complete list of participants.

1. Have you ever played golf? Any interest in playing? Do you have a significant other who loves to play? Did you watch The Masters this past weekend?
~ I took lessons when I was a teenager and in college took golf as one of my required gym classes.  I liked it.  My teacher thought I was good enough to compete...but I never had the chance to do anything about it.  My husband plays once or twice a year with our son.  It's not very serious....think Caddy Shack.  No, I didn't watch the Masters.  Golf on television is as exciting as watching paint dry.

2. Hats are back in fashion this spring...how do you feel about wearing a hat? (fyi-I'm not talking baseball caps) When was the last time you wore one?
~ If I can't count baseball caps then it was 6 years ago when we were on vacation.  We were out on a boat all day and I wore a straw sun hat to shade my face.  I like hats, but never think they look good on me.

3. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 meaning proficient and 1 meaning "I'd starve", how adept are you at using chopsticks?
~ Eh....maybe a 5 or 6.

4. Has technology taken over?
~ Yes!  My microwave oven is broken and I am lost, I tell you, LOST without it.  What a pain to reheat food the "old-fashioned" way.

5. In the course of a day how often do you look in a mirror?
~ Depends on how many times I leave the house.  I look when I'm getting dressed and ready to face the day and at night when I'm washing my face/brushing teeth/etc.  Other than that I only look when I'm leaving the house to make sure my hair is doing some gravity defying gymnastics.

6. Tulip or Daffodil?
~ Daffy-dills!  Love all that bright sunny yellow.

7. I am proud of myself for __________________.
~ Learning how to knit.  Sort of.  Mom taught me (who failed remedial knitting lessons) how to use a loom. I've already made one hat for a premie for her knitting club (they donate knit hats to neonatal units and cancer victims...as well as socks and scarves to soldiers) and am half-way through an adult sized hat.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~ Would I jump in front of a bullet for you?  Heck, NO!  If I have time to jump in front of it....you have time to move!!  LOL

Those are great things you have done with your knitting. I am sure they are all very thankful.

Loom on! I'm impressed.

I did this hop for the first time today, but reading yours reminded me of a hat I do wear! Dagnumit.

I don't know how people drank coffee before microwave ovens. I must reheat mine four or five times before the morning is over.

Good one on #8! Glad you learned how to knit and what a nice project they are doing.

I can't even imagine knitting with a loom, although, crocheting is more my speed.

I'm a tulip person, especially if it's my J's two lips! :)

Theresa...I'm just getting started. My mom is the knitter extraordinaire!

Ellen...It's better than nothing. LOL

Joyce...I know, right. I think the computer's the only thing I'd miss more.

Debby...Thanks!

Simone...I have the stuff around somewhere to learn how to crochet (someone told me it's easier than knitting). One of these days. Two lips...giggle...that's so cute. ;)
