A Patriotic Hodgepodge

1. What can the average citizen do to honor a military veteran and/or those currently serving?
~ Say "thank you"  to their faces, not just on a blog or Facebook.  See if their families have a need that can't be met because the soldier is away....and do what you can to meet the need.  Be a friend, a listening ear. a shoulder to lean on.  Teach your children to respect the military, the flag and what they stand for.  Send packages.  Write letters.  There are a lot of soldiers overseas that never get mail.  The list is endless.

2. Besides a flag what is something you own that is red, white and blue?
~ I have a couple pairs of earrings...we might have some sheets....oh, and Tim's big fleece Marines blanket.  I can't think of anything else.  We do have lots of flags, though.

3. Does love really conquer all?
~ In the long run.  God is love and the greatest commandment is to love one another.  If we love as God loves....then, yeah, it beats all in the end.

4. Strawberry shortcake or blueberry pie?
~ Strawberry shortcake, please?

5. Do you share personal stuff with your hairdresser?
~ Up to a point.  I've known her for a while.  Our kids went to school together.  Her daughter's boyfriend (at the time) tried to break into my house.  We have some history, so we talk.

6. Does money lead to selfishness?
~ Not necessarily, but if a person isn't grounded in what is really important it will probably lead that way.

7. What piece of furniture in your home most needs replacing or refinishing?
~ The armchair and ottoman that belonged to my dad.  It is so dirty and it kind of smells a bit, too, but I can't bring myself to get rid of it.  I'd love to have it recovered.

8. Insert your own random here.

I had my sofa and armchairs reupholstered. They had solid frames, and it was a lot less expensive to have them redone, than to buy new ones. One of my antique rockers, was tattered, so I recovered the seat, but left the old fabric on, because it was great in its day. Have a happy day.

Ha-l love that last picture.

I suppose I don't share my deepest darkest secrets with my stylist but I don't know if I have any. I'm pretty much an open book : )

Enjoy your day!

Love your list for #1. Thank you.
I think you should have that chair recovered. You would miss it too much.
