Yayyy, I love happy stories. I know you've both have had to deal with less than pleasant situations lately and I'm so happy for you that you two get to go off for some romance and fun. Congrats. Stacy!
Wendy, thank you, too. He still won't say where we're staying this weekend, but if the weather is decent I think we are going to hit the market district in Pittsburgh. Should be fun, though we won't be able to buy any yummies at the fish market. :(
When I was younger I thought that you just needed love for a marriage to work. Now as I have aged and gone through a lot I know that isn't all you need. You need to be in love with your best friend!
I am so happy you married your best friend on this day 26 years ago! I am so happy that you are still married to your best friend!
Thank you for sharing your wedding photo and your current photo!
Mrs. Edwards, thanks for the well wishes and for visiting my blog. :)
Phairhead, thank you! And you just had to rub it in, didn't you? ;) In my "defense" I had only just turned 20. I was such a baby and TOTALLY clueless. Good thing he was, too. LOL
Ineverhavetheanswer, marriage takes sooooooo much more than love. At least the kind of love the world usually means. When I taught teens about love/relationships/sex/etc. Those feelings fade....FAST! I taught that real love, the kind God intends for a husband and a wife, isn't a warm, fuzzy feeling or a raging attraction....though those things should come. Real love is, simply put....a choice. A choice to commit to a person. To ALWAYS want the best for them and do everything in your power to make sure that is what they get. It is also ALL of those things in 1 Corinthians 13.
