Who Ya Gonna Call?

There's something strange in the neighborhood!  Actually, it's at the daycare where Megan is working.  They stay open until 11:00 for parents who work afternoon shifts or go to night school.  For the last 2-3 weeks Megan has been working the late shift.  She's only been there alone once.  Usually, there are two of them there.

The one time Megan worked alone I picked her up and helped her clean up so we could get out of there.  She went on and on about how the place creeped her out at night and how everyone who works there thinks the place is haunted.  I kind of pooh-pooh'ed it figuring everyone's imaginations were working overtime.  Any big building is kind of creepy at night when it's dimly lit and no one else is around.

Last night Megan called a little before 11:00 in a panic.  She had been sitting in the office working on the computer.  The other girl was leaning in the doorway talking to her.  Suddenly, a can of Lysol that was sitting on a shelf HURLED ACROSS THE ROOM!  A little bit after that they were again together when the water jug on the water cooler suddenly shot up and flew across the room.

Following all of that, Megan (and it amazes me she did this) went and used the restroom alone even though she has always said that is the creepiest place in the whole building.  Well, she took care of business quickly and opened the door to wash her hands.  While she was washing her hands a can of red paint fell and splattered on the floor.  Apparently there was no place for it to fall from and the only thing up above was an air vent.

The girls called the owner and she sent her husband down.  He said he expected to come and be able to explain it all away, but even he ended up rattled.  He was going to stay after the girls left to see if anything else happened.  I really hope he can find an explanation, because right now Megan says she will not work nights there for any reason.

I don't believe in ghosts (at least not as the wandering souls of the dead) but I do think there are things we can't explain.   I admit, I'd be totally creeped out if it had happened to me.

How would you react to something like that?

That would freak me out! I'm not sure I believe in ghosts but I'm also not sure what to attribute that to.

Oh, I believe in ghosts..I would want to know the history of the place. Perhaps there's a child ghost that wants attention. I'd talk to the ghost out loud...alone and ask it what it wants.

Debbie....I don't believe in them either as the souls of the dead, but I do believe things go on we can't explain and when things start flying across the room on their own....HOLY CRAP!

Wendy....The building was built in the late 70's, I think. I can remember it not being there, but not exactly when it was built. It's been a donut shop, a gas station, a real estate company and maybe a couple of other things. We know one man died in what is now the office.

Wow That is totally creepy. I don't blame her. I would not work at night if I had seen that.

I'd be seriously creeped out! And I can't much blame her for not wanting to be there at night anymore!

Creepy. It isn't ghosts that I would be afraid of, but I would be afraid.
