30 Day Challenge, Day 22: What's In Your Purse?

Lucky, lucky you....it's Look In Stacy's Purse Day here at A Life Lived Well.  As an added bonus, it's a work day so I'm toting my big, ugly, utilitarian, functional, don't care if it sits on the muddy bus floor purse.

This is it.  Ugly thing, isn't it?  It's kind of wet and yes....I do believe there is some mud.  It's a blechhhy, rainy day here.

Looking down into it, it doesn't seem so bad.  All you can see is some papers.

But when I dump it out.....checkbook, datebook, gum, keys (two sets), pens, wallet (seriously over-stuffed), make-up bag, paperback to read on the bus or anywhere else I get stuck waiting, sunglasses in case, bottle of headache relief, lots of receipts, napkins from some fast food restaurant, a couple of paystubs, a winning ($3) lottery ticket and my cell phone.  This is actually a "light" day.  Other days you might find my Nook, CD's, a couple of pounds of loose change, food, a bottled drink, a magazine or heaven only knows what.  At least I can say I've never found any living thing in there.

** Just a side note here about yesterday's post about God getting through to me about discipline.  Several of you commented and it seemed to me that this subject strikes a bit of a nerve with we women.  I found the same thing last night when my Bible study group met.  It was a tough night...lots of sharing and tears and the like.  In a good way, so don't think we sat around beating ourselves up.  Far from it, it was actually very encouraging to see how much company I have.  The next chapter should be interesting..."Personal Discipline, A Trait of Godly Living."  So, we're going to dig even deeper.  If any of you are interested in the study we're doing we're reading the book "A Woman's High Calling: 10 Ways to Live Out God's Plan for Your Life" by Elizabeth George.  We also use the accompanying workbook to dig deeper.

I carried a carton of yogurt to work in mine this morning. :) And ... when we lived in rural Texas years ago I learned not to leave my purse on the floor after finding a mouse in there once!

LOL....no mice here, but I still don't leave my purse on the floor. Male dogs...and they smell all those foreign scents on it and have to, uh, make it their own. That happens once, you learn. :P
