Encourage One Another

Wow, I am just a busy little poster today.  I've gone from one meme a day (if I'm lucky) to three posts in one day...and the day's not over yet.

This one's due to a prompt from the lovely ladies over at Testify.  They want their readers today to share a "life verse" or any Bible verse that has made an impact on their lives and tell how or why.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

~ Matthew 11:28-30

I don't have a specific instance of this verse impacting my life, it's just one that I've grown to appreciate over the years.  What an incredible thought, that when we are so weary, right down to our very souls weary, there is One who will give us rest if we follow Him.  What peace there is in just knowing that.

He does take so much from us, doesn't He?

Beautiful choice, Stacy! I wonder why we fight that so hard ... like little kids who really need a nap but fight laying down to rest because they're afraid of missing something! I'm too much like the child and God is a far more patient parent than I would be!

I have always loved that verse too! Great one to share!

This is a great life verse! It is so easy to grow weary when we fail to rely on His strength, isn't it?

Jeremiah 29:11 -- I clung to it for the ten years I prayed over a list of personality qualities and asked God to make me into the person who deserved the man I'd described, and then send him to me. Amoeba is literally an answer to prayer. In fact, one of the first things he said to me is that the only way two people so perfect for each other but 3000 miles apart could have possibly met is if God orchestrated it.
