A Musical Challenge

While I was stressing over what to do when the "original" 30 Day Challenge was finished, I did a search for memes in the hope of finding something interesting.   The reason I put original in quotes is because what I found was that there are a LOT of 30 Day Challenges out there and they have widely varied themes.  You know I love music so I thought I'd give the 30 Day Song Challenge a go.  It'll require posting a video every day and maybe sharing a bit about the song.  That doesn't sound too difficult and will leave time and space for blogging about more important things (assuming I have any more important things to blog about).

So, without any further ado:

day 01 – your favorite song

Piano Man by Billy Joel wins the honor of being my all-time favorite song.  I've always liked Billy's music, but this song didn't come on my radar until I was in college.  The fraternity that my friends and I liked to spend our Friday nights partying at always ended the party with everyone left in a circle with their arms around each other belting out this song.  Good times, good friends, good music.  I can't hear this without going back in time.

day 02 – your least favorite song
day 03 – a song that makes you happy
day 04 – a song that makes you sad
day 05 – a song that reminds you of someone
day 06 – a song that reminds you of somewhere
day 07 – a song that reminds you of a certain event
day 08 – a song that you know all the words to
day 09 – a song that you can dance to
day 10 – a song that makes you fall asleep
day 11 – a song from your favorite band
day 12 – a song from a band you hate
day 13 – a song that is a guilty pleasure
day 14 – a song that no one would expect you to love
day 15 – a song that describes you
day 16 – a song that you used to love but now hate
day 17 – a song that you hear often on the radio
day 18 – a song that you wish you heard on the radio
day 19 – a song from your favorite album
day 20 – a song that you listen to when you’re angry
day 21 – a song that you listen to when you’re happy
day 22 – a song that you listen to when you’re sad
day 23 – a song that you want to play at your wedding
day 24 – a song that you want to play at your funeral
day 25 – a song that makes you laugh
day 26 – a song that you can play on an instrument
day 27 – a song that you wish you could play
day 28 – a song that makes you feel guilty
day 29 – a song from your childhood
day 30 – your favorite song at this time last year

Thom...I can't wait to see my entries, either. I'm already looking ahead and scratching my head over some of them. It will be interesting to see what I come up with. LOL

Boy, having kids and being lied to do go hand in hand. Happy weekend!

On my first mission trip, we were building a house in a very hilly part of Tijuana. There was music blaring all around us from ramshackle cars. One guy had Piano Man, in Spanish with a different tempo, going all day. We were all singing it...

Bud...ain't it the truth? A good weekend to you and Kathy, too!

Ellen...Oh my, it probably would have ended up being my least favorite song had that been my experience.

30 day music challenge huh...*considers 'stealing' it* That might actually be fun.

I honestly don't know what possessed me to start smoking. I gave my mom crap about it all the time when she smoked when I was younger. *shrug*

As for the 'farmers & hicks', yeah I think the principal was a bit off his rocker. I pretty much sat back and laughed at some of the stuff they'd do or say to me. I always kept thinking, 'Man, if you were at my old school you wouldn't last a day!'

Shawnna....steal away if you want to. I don't even know where it originated. I gave everyone the business about smoking, too, then indulged here and there in college. The stupidity of youth, I guess. I went to a school of farmers and hicks...not too many gangsters there. :P

Unfortunately, because of the time I was born, I don't know much about Billy Joel! Well, maybe I should listen to some of his songs.. I can't wait to see what you post here in the upcoming days! :)

I sort of bombed out on the last one and didn't finish the last couple of days. But I've been looking for something else to do. I might "borrow" from you this time if you don't mind. At least it'll give me something to write about. And some days even something to think about. I look forward to hearing all of yours.

Mich....go for it! I've had a couple of people pick it up and go and another that is going to do it next month. I've actually had a harder time with it than the other challenge. I love music and trying to narrow it down to one song every day....well, most days I have at least 2.
