The picture is easy....
Tim, Megan and I in October. |
The introduction is a little harder...
- Hi! My name is Stacy Lynn. I live in southwestern Pennsylvania on the outer edge of the Laurel Highlands. I've been married 26 years. I have a 24-year-old son and an 18-year-old-daughter. My son is married and has a 2-year-old daughter. I drive a school bus. I started when the kids were younger because it was a good way to earn a little money and still be available for them. I'm still doing it because I've gotten kind of attached to having my summers off. I'm a Christian and a conservative....I kind of hate to actually say Republican these days (though that's what my voter registration card says) because the whole government (Dems, too!) is totally whacked. I like country music. I LOVE me some Toby Keith. I love really bad cheesy movies. Especially Christmas ones. I can't carry a tune across the road in a bucket. I need to lose weight. My hair is curly and I have freckles everywhere!
- I wear bi-focals. Yep, bi-focals and a grandma....I am getting old!
- I am addicted to cookbooks and cooking shows but hardly ever cook from scratch these days.
- My mom and I have the same birthday...August 15.
- My dad's birthday was August 13.
- Whenever a new Janet Evanovich book comes out I read it in one sitting. Just leave me alone till I'm finished.
- I hate peanuts, but love peanut butter.
- I was in Civil Air Patrol in high school.
- My family tree goes back to the Mayflower and John and Priscilla Alden.
- I don't believe in ghosts (at least not as souls of the dead), but I think my mom's house is haunted. I don't know what else to call it.
- I won't use outhouses because the number one scary story around here is about a school teacher who disappeared around the turn of the 20th Century. She was found several days later shoved down into the outhouse of the one-room school she taught at. Extra scary because it's true. Her name was Emma Austraw....look her up.
- I am not a big fan of elementary-aged kids. I like them best in small doses. (I'm horrible, I know.)
- I love teenagers! (Does that redeem me?)
- Making friends isn't something that comes easily to me.
- I just might start taking some seminary classes in the near future.
- I can't knit. I want to knit. I've had lessons. From my mom. From the ladies at work. I tried following the directions in a book. Nada. What my brain sees/thinks does not translate to yarn.

This was a great Whoopi Goldberg interview. She's one of my favourite people whom I've never met! This was fun!
If I can knit, I would think anyone can. However, for so many reasons I could never drive a school bus!
My "blended" lenses are tri-focals, but I only have step grandchildren. So I'm not sure if that makes me old or not. Wait, since I'm older, I guess so!
Sandra....glad you enjoyed it and welcome! Thanks for visiting me. :)
Ellen....You would think, but you'd be wrong. ;) Old. When did that happen? At least "old" is different than it used to be. I'm about the same age my grandmother was when I was born and in my memory and in photos she was an old lady. She didn't look anything like me or my friends do.
Lady Gaga at a church social! That's hilarious!
It's okay, I can't carry a tune either. My own kids tend to cover their ears when I start to sing.
Nice to learn so much more about you!
As for being forbidden ... my sister forbid me to date Amoeba (we met online and lived 3000 miles apart). I was 47 years old at the time. Obviously I ignored her. She does like him now and has decided he is probably not an axe murderer. As for Amoeba, he swears he has never murdered any axes.
Quilly...Oh, that Amoeba! I have mixed feelings about meeting on the internet, I guess. I've made excellent friends here and I do know many, like yourself, who've made great matches. I also know a few women who gave up everything and traveled great distances only to be ripped off. And then there was my late sister-in-law. She and her second husband were a living bad joke about why you shouldn't date on the internet.
YOU make me laugh! :) And we may be twins separated at birth! I can eat peanut butter by the jarful but can't stand peanuts! Weirdness, huh! What's this 30 Day Challenge thing?
Beth...I really have no idea where the 30 Day Challenge started. I've seen people doing it on Facebook and on blogs, but there's never anything that gives the background. I finally saw the whole list on a blog and decided to copy it and do it myself. I don't think it matters when you start it.
If anyone has any information about Ms. Emma Austraw, please contact me at jaxmg1@hotmail.com. She is of special interest to me and my family.
