Dancing in the Streets

I would not normally rejoice in the death of another human being, but just this once....

WOOOOHOOOOO!  YIPPEEEEE!  YEEEEHAAWW!  DING DONG THE ******* IS DEAD!

It has been many years in coming and to those who question the right of the U.S. to have engaged in war for so many years and the loss of so many Iraqi and Afghani lives, I ask this question:

THOUSANDS of innocent lives were lost in a matter of a couple of hours in a single day in the name of hate.  What about those lives?  Did they not deserve justice?

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR SOLDIERS!  WELL DONE!

No. I haven't forgotten. I remember how upset and incensed we were to hear that the Al Qaeda danced in the streets and rejoiced at the death of American citizens and I can't help but wonder how the hate and carnage can ever stop if we rejoice over the killing of one another.

I am not sorry bin Laden is dead, but I cannot rejoice.

"Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them." Proverbs 24:17-18

"As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways"--Ezek. 33:11.

"Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord." Romans 12:19

"For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:2

And many more.

Maybe "rejoice" wasn't quite the right word, but I am glad our soldiers found him. I am glad the hunt is finally over. I am glad justice has been served, though I do wish he hadn't fought back, that he had been taken alive so he would have to face the consequences of what he did.

Stacy -- he'll face the consequences. It is probably best that this one was left to God to punish. Watching him suffer would have made too many people happy and forever stained their souls. (And yes, I might have been one of them.)
