Like Sands Through The Hour Glass

Mommy's Idea

Somebody stop the clock!  Time is rushing by too quickly.  There is too much to do and not enough time to do it in.  It's already time for Friday Fragments with Mrs. 4444 again.  How can that be?  Didn't we just do this, like.....yesterday??

Megan has decided to volunteer to be the "split-shift" person at work.  That means she will go in for a few hours in the morning, basically while the school-age kids are still there.  Then she will come home for a few hours and go back when the kids get out of school.  Fine and dandy except that she doesn't drive so all that back-and-forthing takes some serious planning.  So far, we've got it covered, but I'm afraid there will be a time or a day when no one is available for one of the middle of the day runs.  We depend pretty heavily on her boyfriend right now.  If he goes to work at a regular job (he's applied) we're going to be stuck.

Still flying high on my night with Toby Keith, but I just got off the phone with our insurance company.  I don't think I mentioned it, but on the way home from the concert we were the front vehicle in a 4-car chain reaction accident.  The young kid at the back of the line said his brakes failed.   I didn't think there was any damage done that night, but it was dark so hard to see.  Tim saw that the bumper was bent up a bit so he is concerned that maybe the hit was hard enough to crack his hitch or otherwise damage it.  We want to get it checked out and repaired, if necessary.  Fortunately, the insurance guy said that since I was the front person in the line, no insurance company will fight to try and make me responsible.  So, if there's damage that needs fixing I sure hope the kid had insurance.
I found out a lot more about the seminary class I'm taking when we went over the syllabus last night.  It makes me sound like an airhead, but I had no idea what class I was taking or what it was about up until this week.  I just knew I wanted to be in the PTI program (pastoral training) and this is the class offered this semester.  It's called Spiritual Foundations and is about building our relationship with the risen, living, and active God.  We're going to learn about this, but more exciting, we're going to put it into practice!  I'm excited.  It's still a lot of work, but I need this and can't wait to see where it leads me.  I hope to be sharing a lot of what I learn here on the blog.
Unfortunately, that's all the frags I have time for this week.  I have to head back to work.  Fridays are early dismissal days for the private school I drive for in addition to the public schools.

I'm glad you're still making time for blogging! Did Meghan ask before she volunteered for that schedule and why does she not drive?

So sorry to hear about the pile-up but glad you were in front and didn't get hurt!

I will get to meet you live and in person in 47 days! I expect you to be at least as excited as you were about Toby! :)

Love ya!

Is there any way Megan could get her license? If there's a story there, I don't know it.

Beth & Ellen...There's no reason why Megan CAN'T get her license. She simply won't study...same as she was in school. She's taken the permit test (without studying) three times and failed three times. Her driving wouldn't solve all the problems, though. She'd still need a truck (she refuses to drive a car).

Beth...47 days? WOOT! At least that excited, but maybe it'd help if you wore a cowboy hat. ROFL

Hope you enjoy your Spiritual Foundations class and learn a lot. I am excited about the classes I am taking this fall too: "Instruments In The Redeemer's Hands" about helping people change and "The Tangible Kingdom" about living like Jesus in a loving and practical way.

Those both sound like excellent classes! I hope we both learn a lot and make the most of it.

Thanks for visiting me. :)
