A Wedding & A Meme

Life is moving slo-ooowly, if it's moving at all today.  We got up yesterday and spent the morning cleaning the house in advance of Tim's family descending in the afternoon.  Am I the only one who thinks a man with a dust cloth in his hand is an incredibly sexy man?  In the afternoon we went to the wedding of (try to follow this) Tim's dad's half-sister's son.  Thom is between our kids in age and when the kids were little they were very close.

The wedding was very, very nice.  The pastor was a friend and it was very sweet how he kept getting all choked up during the ceremony.  He actually cried when he introduced them as the new Mr. and Mrs.....  A lot of people found it surprising after they found out at the reception the man is covered with tattoos.  The bride had a baby when she was a teenager.  She kept him, raised him, and managed to put herself through nursing school.  The boy is now 10 and seems thrilled to have gained Thom as his dad.  In fact, it was pretty cool when the couple poured the unity sand and lit the unity candle...they had three vials of sand and three candles so the boy could be part of the picture.  At the reception he raced around his parents on the dance floor ringing the little bells we were given to make them kiss.  It was such a blessing to see what a happy family they are going to be.

Thom and his bride are both nurses.  Thom is also an EMT and a fireman.  The fire department shined up it's big ladder truck and sent it to the wedding.  The couple rode it to the reception.  The cake had a bride and groom on top, but a firetruck at the base.  The favors on the table?  Little first-aid kits to put in your purse of glove box.

Anyway, it was a fun evening with too much good food, too much dancing, and probably a little too much imbibing.  And that's why no one is moving today.

I am, however, going to have to crack the books at some point so I don't get behind in my class.

Nothing really seemed to jump out to write about today...well, nothing I felt like putting a lot of energy into.  A couple of things got my dander up while reading the paper this morning, but I'll save them for another day.  How about for now we visit a blast from the past and take a look at Sunday Stealing.  We haven't gone there for several months.

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. The only exception is when we find a meme from a blogger who longer posts. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!!

Today we ripped off a blogger and blog called Highway Girl. We will do the forty question in two parts. She states that she shamelessly stole it from Rappy. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player's posts. It's a great way to make new friends! Sunday Stealing: The Lower 40 Meme, Part Two

Cheers to all of us thieves!

21) Have you ever flown a kite?
~ As a kid, but I was never any good at it.

22) Do you wish on your fallen lashes?~ I'm more likely to cry as I get older.  I have short, thin lashes to begin with.  I can't afford to lose them!

23) Do you consider yourself successful?~ Not really, but I don't always have the best self esteem.

24) When was the last time that you made an obscene phone call?~ I don't believe I've EVER made an obscene phone call.  Prank calls?  Yes, when I was a teenager, but obscene, NO!

25) Have you ever asked for a pony?~ Nope.  I dream big.  I asked for a horse.

26) Plans for tomorrow?~ Back to work.  What else would there be on a Monday?

27) Can you juggle?~ Only in the sense that, like most women, I can do about 12 things at once.

28) Missing someone now?~ My granddaughter.  It would be nice to see more of her.

29) When was the last time you told someone "I love you"?~ Yesterday.  Tim tells me everyday....just hasn't gotten around to it today yet.

30) And truly meant it?~ Yes, he means it.

31) How often do you drink alcohol?~ Usually I don't have more than a glass of wine or one mixed drink once or twice a week, but then there are times like last night when I make up for it.  I didn't get drunk, but I enjoyed myself.

32) How are you feeling today?
~ Fine.  Just tired.

33) Have you every tried to write a meme?~ Nope.  There are enough of them out there without me adding to it.

34) Have you ever been fired from a job?~ No, never.

35) What are you looking forward to?~ Getting to meet Beth next month and going to the Relevant Conference together.

36) Have you ever crawled through a window?~ More than one.

37) What's the most recent bad meal that you had to endure?
~ I can't really think of one.  I guess it's been a while.

38) Can you handle the truth?~ I think so.  I may not like it, but it won't send me into hiding.

39) Whose to blame for what's going on?~ I'm assuming you mean in the world?  If that's the case I think it's a case of joint ownership.  The politicians in Washington for disregarding the people and their needs in favor of their own agendas and....we, the people, for not being informed, not voting, and letting them get away with it.  Voting is a privilege we are blessed with in this country.  It is a tragedy not to exercise it.  It is a crime to exercise that right without being educated.

40) What will it take to fix it all up?
~ A miracle.  Short of that, I don't know how we can wake up an apathetic society and get them to educate themselves on the issues and hold their elected officials accountable.

Thank you for playing this week on Sunday Stealing!

I just have to say how completely and utterly jealous I am that you and Beth get to meet IRL! Both of you give each other a great big hug from me!
