Here's a Peek

Such a dreary day it is.  It is warm, though....in the lower 50s.  At least until this evening and the cold front moves in.  I'll take it.  Any day in January that I don't have to deal with snow and icy roads is a GOOD day!  I am hoping the roads don't freeze up too early as I want to go to Bible study at church tonight.  We are still studying Revelation and it's fascinating.  When you really spend the time to study it and understand it, Revelation is not as scary as I always thought it was.  In fact, if you're a believer it's rather comforting.

Well, it was back to work today after a nice restful 3-day weekend.  I didn't go anywhere the whole time except to church, one trip to the new church property to take pictures, and the grocery store.  After Friday's wicked weather and stressful day on the job (remember, I drive a school bus and we had no delays or cancellations) I was perfectly content to be a homebody.  It gave me plenty of time to catch up on blogging, do some reading, and put in some effort at being a Titus 2 woman.

If you'll recall, the Titus 2 woman is called to homemaking.  Now don't get defensive on me.  That doesn't mean we can't do other things, just that God wants us to maintain our homes and bless our families and others through them.  Let me tell you, that can be a real challenge for me.  I'm not by nature a domestic type of person.  I'd rather be doing just about anything else than dusting, doing laundry, scrubbing toilets, picking up after everyone yet again.....well, you get the picture.  I can raise procrastination to an art form when it comes to avoiding jobs I don't want to do.  That's something I have to work on this year.  And we'll get to that.  Later.

For now, I want to share with you what I did do.  Do you remember me telling you about Tim getting me a huge corner cupboard for Christmas?  Well, this weekend I finally finished moving things into it.  It wasn't a small job.  By the time I was done, I'd emptied the china cabinet and reorganized it, cleared the storage shelves in the hallway, moved the family games to those shelves....which opened a lot of space on my bookshelves sooooo, I completely reorganized all my bookcases (I have 5), but now the room the shelves are in is a disaster and I have to reorganize it.  Oh, and I emptied a drawer in the kitchen so I need to go through all the gadgets in the junk drawer (that most days is caught on something) and put some in the newly freed space.  Whew!  It was worth the effort, though, don't you think?

105.  Ponytail holders that don't rip your hair out by the roots the way gumbands did.


106.  Words With Friends is actually giving me vowels and consonants today.


107.  As I listen to the wind and rain blasting the house....the new roof put on this summer.


108.  Snuggies!  They're the greatest thing ever if you're a reader because you're under the blanket and your arms are covered, too.  


109.  Computers, digital cameras, scanners....and all the rest of the technology that lets us share our lives with each other.
