Wednesday Hodgepodge, Post Holiday Edition

The Wednesday Hodgepodge is my favorite meme and a fun way to meet some new bloggers.  It comes courtesy of Joyce at From This Side of the Pond.   If you'd like to participate, hop on over and see Joyce for directions.  You can always check out the other participants, too.  Everyone is listed on her blog.

1. What are three words you would use to describe your 2011?
~ Stressful, growth, and change.

2. Do you like shrimp? What's your favorite way to have it prepared?
~ I LOVE shrimp!  It is quite possibly my favorite food in the known universe.  Right now I am hooked on coconut shrimp with pineapple plum sauce.

3. Is your house de-Christmased? If so when did you tackle that job? If not, when will the decorations come down?
~ It sure is.  Unless something comes up I always pack up Christmas on New Year's Day.  It's been out since the day after Thanksgiving most years so I am ready be done with it and New Year's Day is the last chance I have to get the family to help.  Once they go back to work I can forget that.

4. Do you like to watch scary movies?
~ Not no way, not no how.

5. ice skating~sledding~skiing~snowboarding~of the four listed which wintertime activity do you most enjoy?
~ Ummm.....where is curling up by a roaring fire with a good book?  I really don't like cold weather.  I am  convinced I should live on a Caribbean island.  I guess I could like sledding...Jamaica had a bobsled team so anything is possible.

6. Did you have a childhood hideout? Describe it.
~ We moved a good deal when I was a kid but I always had a hideout everywhere we went.  I was the kind of kid that always organized the other kids into secret clubs and stuff.

7. What's a place or space that motivates you?
~ Lowe's.  I always get ideas when I'm there.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Visiting from Hodgepodge. Coconut shrimp sounds delish. When I was a public school teacher we all would say they couldn't pay us enough to drive a school bus! We always gave a lot of credit to the bus drivers :)

Oh, your 10 ways to love are sure challenging. I especially have trouble with not interrupting.
Lowe's is a favorite place of mine. They have so much stuff!
Have a good day.

Welcome, Theresa! Thanks for the kind words. I think teachers have the rougher job. You have the little darlings ALL day. lol

Marti, it is a challenging list, but something to shoot for.

Debby, thanks. Found them on Facebook.

this was a fun post Stacy. and the memory that it stirred in me was my hiding place growing up – I'm sure I share a lot of people – my hiding place was my room – and somehow I also think I'm not alone in, as a child, thinking that no matter what happened, if I was completely under the blankets, I was safe. Still do a little bit :-) and I hearted your10 ways of love! Thank you Tracy, and God bless and keep you and yours.

Tammy, pineapple plum sauce is soooo good. They have it at Joe's Crabshack, but I haven't found it anywhere for sale. They must make it. I'm thinking that I might end up with something close if I mix Duck Sauce and crushed pineapple.

Christine, thanks. Winter is NOT my friend. lol

Craig, I totally believed that bit about staying under the blankets and not letting anything hang over the edge of the bed....and I still do just a little bit, too. ;)
