Saturday Share - St. Patrick's Day Edition

source
I don't know where you are in the world, but it seems that nearly everyone here in the U.S. is enjoying unseasonably mild and gorgeous weather.  The blogs, Facebook, and Twitter are humming with praise for the sunshine and tales of outside adventures.  It's incredible for this time of year.  I even heard on the news the other morning that the weather "experts" (who are they???) say the signs point to a skipping of Spring this year and jumping right into Summer.  That sounds good, but I can't imagine Winter is through with those of us who live where the snow falls.  I hope it is, though.  Everything is budding out and popping up.  A freeze now would not be good.

Tim is working today.  He will miss church, but this is the first overtime in quite a while so we are not complaining!  I put corned beef and cabbage in the slow cooker last night before I went to bed (the house smells incredible this morning) so the beef would be nice and tender by church-time.  Having Irish blood in my veins, it wouldn't be St. Patrick's Day without it so it's my contribution to the fellowship meal today.

I imagine you're all here for Saturday Share, not to read my blabbering so on with the sharing....

In these uncertain times everyone could use a little extra cash in their pocket, but how to earn that money can be a problem.  MSN offers this video of 8 Weird Ways to Make Money.

I leave you today with the words of St. Patrick:

I bind unto myself today
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One and One in Three.
I bind this day to me for ever.
By power of faith, Christ's incarnation;
His baptism in the Jordan river;
His death on Cross for my salvation;
His bursting from the spicèd tomb;
His riding up the heavenly way;
His coming at the day of doom;
*
I bind unto myself today.
I bind unto myself the power
Of the great love of the cherubim;
The sweet 'well done' in judgment hour,
The service of the seraphim,
Confessors' faith, Apostles' word,
The Patriarchs' prayers, the Prophets' scrolls,
All good deeds done unto the Lord,
And purity of virgin souls.
I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit heaven,
The glorious sun's life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
Around the old eternal rocks.
I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.
Against the demon snares of sin,
The vice that gives temptation force,
The natural lusts that war within,
The hostile men that mar my course;
Or few or many, far or nigh,
In every place and in all hours,
Against their fierce hostility,
I bind to me these holy powers.
Against all Satan's spells and wiles,
Against false words of heresy,
Against the knowledge that defiles,
Against the heart's idolatry,
Against the wizard's evil craft,
Against the death wound and the burning,
The choking wave and the poisoned shaft,
Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning.
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.

I have never made corned beef in the slow cooker but I bet it sure smells good. Happy St. Patty's day to you.

First of all, Stacy, thanks for stopping by and answering all the questions! That had to be a chore! I loved your wallpaper miracle. God moves in big and little ways and being acknowledging and appreciative of both is a testimony.
We're 'revamping' our cupboards in the health dept at our house, so every tip is appreciated. I'm going to head over there and check them out.
Be blessed this week!

Wendy...I get what you mean. We lived in Florida when we were first married and I really missed the changing seasons.

Sandie...Thank you. I hope you had a happy St. Patrick's Day, too.

Simone...It smelled good in the slow cooker. Not so much in the car where, in spite of my precautions, it spilled all through the trunk. :(

Brenda...The questions were fun and I confess to visiting your blog semi-regularly but I've been a lurker. Mending my ways, I guess. LOL Hope you find the "recipes" helpful.
