This week’s statements:

1.       I never ___ when I ___
2.       I used to __but I stopped
3.       My favorite picture of all time is of _______________
4.       When it gets dark I think about _______________

My answers:

1.       I never swim when I go to the beach.  We can thank Jaws for this.  I whined until she gave in convinced my mom I was ready to see when I was about 11 (kids were a lot less sophisticated in those days).  I was wrong.  For months I couldn't let any part of my body hang over the edge of the bed for fear a shark would eat it off (ridiculous, but there it was).  I have harbored a life-long fear of sharks ever since.  I love the beach.  I love going out on boats.  I do not go in the water past my ankles.
2.      I used to bite my nails but I stopped.  Except during times of high stress.
3.      My favorite picture of all time is of us. Were we ever that young?

4.      When it gets dark I think about not a lot, actually.  I get up at 4:00 A.M. for work so by the time dinner is over I'm just chilling, watching TV (mindless) or playing on the computer (mindless) and when I hit the bed I sleep like the dead.

Ah, another nail biter. Me, too. I'm glad I was able to kick the habit!!!

I only bite my nails when I have a snag and I don't have a nail file.

Swim in the ocean? I like to see underwater. I like walls around my water. Lake Michigan looks like an ocean, but it's just plain ol' too cold.

I still bite my nails. :(

And I love you to pieces, Stacy, but the auto-playing music irks the heck out of me. Could you consider either doing away with it or move it to the top so I can turn it off faster? Thanks!

I live on the beach, but I barely go into the ocean. You joke, but you never really know about sharks. There was a shark spotting by my house last summer... it was wild. I actually wrote about it with pictures

LOL I am the same way when I go to the beach. Because of Jaws I do not like getting deep in the water. My husband thinks it is funny. But I swear I can hear the Jaws theme when I am in the water. I use to bit my fingernails also. I am better about it now (sometimes).

The Jaws thing never kept me out of the water. I used to bite my nails but haven't for a long time.

Susi...I'm glad, too. Thanks for visiting!

Ellen...I always think I could do the ocean in the Caribbean with all that clear water, but maybe I wouldn't like what I see coming, either. LOL

Beth...Me, too, but only at times of high stress. I'd like to move it to the top but have to find a small player that will fit.

Hilary...That's what I say all the time. It used to be that you rarely heard about shark attacks and now they are in the news constantly!

Rochelle...That's it exactly! Da-dum....da-dum...da-dum...dadumdadumdadum... :D

My Kid's Mom...Good for you! I wish it wasn't such a phobia for me.

Loved reading your Fill-in. I like to see how everyone responds. I missed the picture question....went right over my head. I thought it was my favorite movie!

I don't swim at the beach either... and why is it that at 11 we think we are so much smarter than our parents?

I'm looking at your wedding picture and thinking that dress looks very familiar. I think I had the same gown! circa about 1983?

Yeah, I used to bite my nails, too. I quit years ago, but I'm afraid my daughter bites hers now. Funny, we were both thumb suckers. I wonder if there's a pattern here.

I never saw Jaws, thus I swim in the ocean.

Enjoyed reading your answers.

I'm a reformed nail-biter too!

Jaws never left me spooked, probably because I never lived on a beach and I was in my 20s the first time I was near salt water post-seeing Jaws. For me, living in Michigan as a kid, it was "In Search of Bigfoot." It was a warm-up movie, about an hour, at the Drive-In and I'd never heard of Bigfoot before. Ten I find out the had been sightings in Michigan? I didn't want to be in a room alone at night for a long time!

Debby...Well, movies used to be called pictures. ;) I'd say it counts.

Brenda...I don't know and I still wasn't any smarter when I convinced her at 14 to let me see "It's Alive."

Denise...1984! Wow, that's wild.

Nani...there was a time Bigfoot could scare me, too. This area used to have a lot of reported sightings.

I'm with you on the beach thing. Not so much for the shark factor, but I prefer to swim in the pool. It's less... messy.

Loving this blog hop, I'm meeting all sorts of cool people! Following you :)
