The Follow Friday Four Fill-In Fun bloggy hop is brought to you by Hilary of Feeling Beachie and a rotating cast of co-hosts...this week it's Megan of Megan Blogs.  The ladies provide 4 statements with blanks left for us to fill in.

Here are this week's statements:

1.       There never seems to be ____
2.       I love to ___
3.       I could ______ outta ________
4.       The last time I ______, _______

And my responses:

1.       There never seems to be anyone else in this house that knows how to change a roll of toilet paper.
2.       I love to crack open a new book....the smell of the new pages, the smooth feel of them...HEAVEN!!
3.       I could cook the heck outta dinner, but what's the point when no one is actually home at dinner time?
4.       The last time I went on a real vacation, it was 2006....I am long overdue!

Mommy's Idea

*Thanks to Mrs. 4444 for hosting the Friday Fragments blog hop.*

Tim talked to our son....looks like he's going to stay where he's at for the time being.  I don't know if he went through with the lunch with the owner of the other dealership or not, but his present employer made a lot of promises so he's going to give it another chance.  That's good I think.  I hate to see him so unsettled at work with a new baby due August 4.  We'll just keep praying it all works out for the best.

And speaking of work....

I'm taking our daughter out to put in job applications this morning.  Where?  Everywhere!  She says she wants a job, but hasn't exactly been ambitious in the search and I am tired of ending up in fights with her when I try to talk to her about little things like, oh.....responsibility and being a little less slug-like.  The fact that she stays out most of the night and sleeps most of the day is wearing thin.  A hard dose of reality is about to be delivered.  Keep us both in your prayers today.  I'm going to need all the help I can get to remain calm and loving and she's going to need help to be even a little receptive.

Tomorrow is the preview day for the library's used book sale....one of my favorite days of the summer.  You know me and books.  Anyway, it costs $5 to get in and then the books are $1 each, 50 cents for paperbacks.  It all raises money for the library and I get first shot (I am there when the door opens) at the donated books.  I won't go again until Thursday when it is $1 per bag day....all the books you can cram in a grocery bag for $1.  This is where I get the bulk of my books for the year.  By the time the sale is over each year I've usually added close to 40 new books to my library.

Mom and her husband leave for Florida on Monday.  Two years ago John received proton therapy for prostate cancer.  This is a regular check-up.  They are allowing two days to drive down, two days at the treatment facility, and on the way back John wants to go to the Okefenokee Swamp....he's gone hunting twice before at a place that stocks wild game from all over the world....he's shot a wild boar and some kind of African deer the other two times.  I don't know if he's actually planning to hunt this time or not.

We get to babysit the Schnauzer while they are away.  Should be interesting....she hates the new puppy.

Well, Megan's alarm went off and she is actually up and moving so I guess I'd better get ready to go, too.  Have a wonderful Friday and if you're looking for something to read....stop back tomorrow for my Saturday Share links.

Thanks for stopping by! I laughed at your TP comment.. same here, really, is it THAT hard?

The Beach Club book is an older one, they must have republished. The cover is different than any I saw on line, but I bought it brand new at Walgreens yesterday

Isn't that always the case with TP? Good luck on the job search with your daughter.

I understand your frustrations you're having with your daughter. I'm experiencing the same thing with my DS. He needs to get a job before he begins college this fall and nothing has materialized just yet.

OH seriously.... the dinner and dinner time ... I finally gave up --- that was before they all left... NOW... when they are in town, they show up at the table on time!!

You most definitely need and deserve a vacation with all the family drama that's been going on this past year. Although a new puppy and books are just what the Dr. ordered!

Makes me wonder where the term "puppy love" comes from.

Enjoyed reading your fill-ins and yes you do need a vacation. Praying it all works our well for your son. Also, hope your daughter can find a job. Yes she will have a rude awakening for sure! Have fun baby sitting the dog. Enjoy your weekend.

My Kid's Mom...I don't know, but it seems to be wide spread.

Martha...We have a Walgreens, I'll have to check it out.

Wayne...Thanks. She put in several applications today so we'll see.

Lucy...New books are wonderful, aren't they? Thanks for understanding the wanting to give her a little push. No one around here seems to.

Cathy...Why is it that they are so unmotivated?

Brenda...Yeah, when it comes to the holidays everybody is all for me cooking a big meal.

Wendy...Book & Puppy Therapy is the best! A vacation would still be awesome, though.

Ellen...from the people, I guess. While the older dogs around aren't too thrilled with Miss Daisy, the people around turn all sappy. On our walk the other night several people I don't know came running out of their yards to scoop her up and love on her.

Debby...Thank you. I just hope she does wake up one of these days. She's been out of school for two years and nothing much has changed. :/

I am long overdue for a vacation as well. It's been since 2010, which is better than your record, but still stinky.

If nothing changes, then nothing changes; here's hoping the job hunt is a fruitful one. :) Good luck to your son, too.

Cheap books are awesome. It's great to see used books getting a new lease on life, too.

Thanks for linking up. Have a great weekend.
