Looking Back on the Weekend

Hello out there.....*insert crickets*.....I'm all alone here.  I know I am.  You are all watching the Oscars.  I only go to the theater a couple of times a year so I can't bring myself to care too much about movie awards.  The Hubby and I finally watched Skyfall which I got him for Valentine's Day this afternoon.  That's as close as I'm getting.

By the way, Skyfall was awesome!  That Daniel Craig....whew!

Friday afternoon did not go well.  When I got back to work I pulled my car up in front of my bus.  I was going to throw my stuff on and start the bus so it could warm up for a few minutes.  It didn't play out that way.  We had a light drizzle kind of thing going on and the temperature was just right to create flash freeze conditions.  As soon as my feet hit the ground....so did I.  I went down on my hands and knees, fortunately, rather than backward to hit my head.  It hurt so bad, though, that all I could do was sit down in the middle of the lot.  I figured someone would pull in or see me from inside and come out....nope.  Eventually, I managed to get back on my knees and crawl up the side of my car.

I'll skip the tirade about my employer being rather negligent when it comes to treating the ice on the lot and just tell you that I drove that afternoon even though it was EXTREMELY painful every time I had to set the parking brake.  I opted to skip going out so I could come home and ice my knee.  I got my fish, though.  Tim picked up a couple of dinners from a local restaurant.  Maybe next week for a real fish fry?

The ladies from church met Saturday morning for our bible study on Jesus.  A few people were missing, but it was such a good time together.  We always end up sharing and talking about things that really matter...and usually crying and hugging.  Those ladies are such a blessing!  I went to church Saturday night.  Tim was working on the church remodel again and didn't go with me.  I think things are turning around with that, though.  Let me explain...

Tim has been having some issues with a couple of people he has to deal with about the church remodel.  It was bad for a while there.  I don't know all the details...he didn't tell me everything because he knew I was happy at the church and didn't want to ruin it for me.  He didn't get that him pulling out of everything and being mad at people I care about took a lot of the joy out of it for me, anyway.  It all came to a head a week or two ago and I went to the pastor and poured it all out.  She talked to Tim and it's been getting better since.  I know a lot of people are praying for him and this morning our pastor's husband and another man who is a leader met Tim for breakfast.  They were supposed to do a Bible study with him, too, but he had such a good time and was so responsive that they asked him to come to Tuesday bible study and he agreed! Of course, I hear it's supposed to be a wintry mess on Tuesday so class may be canceled, but he agreed and has already said he'll go next week.  Oh, and he's going to meet with the men once a month.  God is good!

We've just chilled out around the house for the most part today.  I'm giving the knee another day of rest and my cold is finally breaking up.  The box of Kleenex is my best friend and never far away.

I've been doing a lot of reading and reflecting.  Some of that might show up on the blog this week.

I hope you're all feeling rested and refreshed after the weekend and are ready to face Monday.  Have a great week!

Sorry about the crickets. I know what it feels like. I've been quiet lately because life is just ... hard! I've finally managed to make it 24 hours since my last crying jag though. Yay me! =)

Hope your knee(s) are feeling better! Did you scrape the palms of your hands too?

Such good news re: Tim! PTL!

Love you!

Just found your blog...you are soooo funny! I snorted a couple of times perusing your thoughts, made my husband look up and smile....knowingly!
