Pondering Swing

This week Brenda is asking us to ponder purposefully on "swing."

It's a rainy, miserable day here, which is playing havoc on my sinuses and giving me a nasty headache that will probably last all day, so....my ponderings are not that deep.  In fact, I think I'm going to "cheat" and rely on videos.

Enjoy!

HOW do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
  Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,         5
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
  Over the countryside—

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown—  10
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

~ Robert Louis Stevenson

YOWCH indeed! But I loved the Robert Louis Stevenson poem at the end, I remember it now from the nursery rhyme books of my childhood - long, long ago!

I immediately went to the song "Swingin'", and the porch swing with my Grampy...then I posted about a very fond memory. I hope you will check it out!
