30 Day Challenge, Day 20: A Rose By Any Other Name...

You really want to know my nicknames, huh?  I'm telling you, they're pretty lame and they don't have exciting stories behind them.

• SAM or GEORGE - My dad's names for me.  I have no idea why but those are what I got more than my real name.
• SPIDERLEGS - The kids at church called me that the summer before jr. high started.  I shot up like a weed that year and was a lot taller than everyone, including the boys.  I also weighed about 80 pounds soaking wet, so you get it...skinny....all legs....
• SPACEY/SPACE - No, it did not come from being an airhead, thank you very much.  My friends started calling me that after I joined the Civil Air Patrol and it really took off for some reason when I started playing basketball in high school.  Megan's best friend still calls me Spacey.
• GAMEMASTER- I was the youth leader who always had a great game up my sleeve.
• DONUT HOLE - At one ladies' retreat we did an exercise where we were to tear a sheet of paper into a shape that represented us.  My best friend at the time tore a donut shape and said that described her when she came to our church (missing something in the middle) but since she'd met me that wasn't true any more and she replaced the piece she'd ripped out of the middle.  So.....I'm a donut hole.
• XENA/X - Some church friends started calling me that when our previous church was imploding.  I was council president, youth leader and a host of other things as well as the wife of the head elder.....I was fighting the fight ALL the time.  Apparently I reminded them of a warrior princess?
• ACE - Tim's name for me.  No particular reason that I know of.  He's always called me that just like our son is Sporty and our daughter is Shorty.

That's it.  I told you it was a boring list.
