Rainy Sunday Morning

A rainy morning that promises to be a complete rainy day going on outside.  I knew it before I even got out of bed....my back, hips, and legs were aching.  Good grief, but I'm becoming my grandmother!

We're still on a nice vacation groove around here.  Tim went out to breakfast with some guys from church (as well as from our old church) yesterday and had a great time catching up.  He shouldn't be putting in as much overtime on the next  job so maybe he can make the once a month get-togethers at least some of the time.  It would be good for him.  After that he stopped by the last day of a 3-day auction to settle the estate of an old family friend.  The guy was a collector of old farm stuff and car stuff.  Among other things they got $4000 for one of his old lighted gas pumps and $17,000 for a classic Mustang convertible.  I stayed home and organized the kitchen cabinets....yeah, not exciting but it needed done and I feel better now that it is.

On an Oops! note....my mom showed up while I was in the middle of organizing.  To see if I was ready to go.  Go where??  I totally forgot that the bridal shower for Tim's half-aunt's son's fiance was yesterday.  Mom was only going because I was going.  She was not amused.  She went anyway.

Church was good last night....biggest crowd we've had all summer.  The fellowship dinner after (which we have every week) was overloaded with food.  We had a meeting afterward to tell the congregation about the property we looked at last week.  After a time of discussion the congregation decided to leave it in the board's hands.  We, on the board, voted to move ahead with what we need to do to purchase it.  I don't think we can beat 3 lots (each roughly 70 x 150) and a small, 108 year old church for $28,000.  The current organization has agreed to owner financing at 3% interest!  We are locked into our current lease until next September so we have time to do some repairs that need done.

Today we are off to Pittsburgh to take our son and his wife out to dinner for their anniversary.  This past Tuesday marked 3 years.  How is it possible that I'm old enough to have a child celebrating anniversaries?

I am off to get ready to go so enjoy your Sunday!

Tim's half-aunt's son's fiance? I think I got that right, and I only had to remember to the bottom of the post!

Rochelle...the rain ended by 9:30 and it's been sunny and humid ever since. Yet the weather forecasts all still say rain. Go figure.

Ellen...confusing, isn't it? Tim's aunt is actually younger than his oldest sister....and people talk about today's families being a mess!
