Late Frags

I totally missed Friday Fragments with Mrs. 4444 yesterday, so I'm going to go rogue here and throw out my fragments on Saturday.

The first week of school is a thing of the past.  I survived and no actual children were harmed, but kids....do NOT try this at home.  I am a trained professional.

The only casualty so far has been sleep.  I haven't quite made the adjustment from being a night owl to getting up at 4:00 in the morning (Yes, the world really does exist at that time....who knew?) and getting to bed by 10:00.

The Brazilian blow out?  LOVING IT!  I posted a picture on Facebook and it generated a lot of comments....all good.  Yea!  I can't believe how absolutely straight it is.  It's like I've had a hair transplant.  Well, here, see what you think.....

And here's one of my daughter....

Everyone thinks we look alike now.  Maybe.  I still think she looks more like Tim.

Anyhoooo....the process took about 3 hours, but it's supposed to last nearly 4 months.  That's good news since I'll probably never get it done again (boo!) because I got it done while it was on sale at half-price.  Not on sale it can cost anywhere from $300-$600, depending on how much hair you have and how much straightening is involved.  They tell me in in really hot, humid places like Miami it can cost over $1000!

Ladies' Nite Out was a success last night.  Thirteen of us braved the heat and humidity, but once the sun went down a little bit it wasn't bad and we ended up staying outside.  Our pastor's yard is so beautiful and it's up on a hill with fabulous views.  We enjoyed a dinner of barbeque chicken and ribs with sides and desserts brought by everyone.  We played a couple of games and there were lots of prizes.  Mostly we got to know each other (there were several new faces) and talked about what we hope to get from the group, about where we are in life...there were several cancer survivors in the group so that was a topic of discussion.  It's a lovely group of ladies and I think we'll have good times and also offer each other friendship and support in the future.

I may have to up the ante here on the blog.  I didn't tell the ladies how to find it, but I did tell them it exists.  That's new for me.  I've always kept my "real" life and my blog life seperate.  Even my family doesn't know exactly where to find me and they haven't read my blog...except for that one horrible incident where my son googled me (I'm guessing), somehow found my (then) anonymous blog and took offense at what he found (in my defense, my son and his wife are easily offended).

Today's the day.  Megan and I will be leaving in just a little over 3 hours for the Toby Keith concert.  This is the first time that just the two of us have gone.  She goes with me every year, but I always have a friend along and she does, too (or a boyfriend).  I have to admit to being a bit nervous about how the two of us are going to handle 12-14 hours together in 90 degree heat and 90% humidity.  I hope to be wrong, but the potential is there for it to get ugly.  If Meg's in the right mood, I don't even breathe right.  Oh well, I'm making up my mind right now.  She can be in the crappiest mood the world has ever seen and I'm not going to let it ruin today.  I've been waiting and so excited for so long.

**I am in no way promoting Anaheim, CA, but this is a good video for the song.**

So, when you picture me today, picture me smiling ear-to-ear, dancing, laughing, loving life (and my daughter), and trying not to faint when I am standing next to Toby.  LOL  It would be my luck to do something horribly embarassing like that...but then again, he'd remember me wouldn't he?  Oy.

Or just picture me here:

GOD BLESS AND HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

My very good friend is a stylist, and she does my hair. When it was long, she loved to straight it, just for the fun of it. I was so thin though.

Now that it's short, it drives her crazy that I still one little curl in the middle of my forehead...she wants to do a keratin straightening treatment on my hair. We'll see.

Yours makes you look younger and more slender. Wowsa!!!

I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!! You go and have a good time my friend. If your daughter is in a bad mood that is her loss.
