What Do I Believe?
- I believe in God, the Father almighty,
- creator of heaven and earth.
- I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
- who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
- born of the Virgin Mary,
- suffered under Pontius Pilate,
- was crucified, died, and was buried;
- he descended to the dead.
- On the third day he rose again;
- he ascended into heaven,
- he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
- and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
- I believe in the Holy Spirit,
- the holy catholic Church,
- the communion of saints,
- the forgiveness of sins,
- the resurrection of the body,
- and the life everlasting.
- Amen.

The Apostles' Creed. Basic. It's been part of the Christian church in some form since around 390 A.D. It's been refined over the years to, where today, it is a succinct statement of Christian doctrine.

Do you know it? If someone asks you what you believe, do you have an answer? You'd better if you're calling yourself a Christian. We are called to go and make disciples. We can't do that if we don't know what we believe. We can't even fend off attacks if we don't know what we're fighting for.

Too often in this world we see Christians losing the battle with non-believers because they don't know their material. They have no idea how to defend against false attacks and accusations. Make no mistake. THE ENEMY KNOWS HIS. We can do no less. It is not enough to be born again in Christ. We must continue to grow in our faith, in our quest to become like Christ, and in our knowledge of the Father's holy Word.

Excuse the run-togetherness of this post. Blogger is apparently having issues again.
I had some blogger issues too this morning. Perhaps we were using it too early? ;)
Anyway, I was just thinking on the way to church that we are so blessed to live in a nation where we can so openly profess our faith. It is not so for too much of our world.
Holy, holy, holy is our Lord God Almighty! He is Risen, He will come again!
Great post....Amen!
That is true - we must be able to defend our faith - when I say the Apostle's Creed - it makes me feel so strong in the faith. Sandie
Amen! There's nothing left to say.
