Saturday Share

Looks like it's going to be a busy day around here.  Tim is working at the church again.  The place across the street where they just built storage units needs to get rid of dirt.  We need dirt.  So, today they are moving it across the road to fill in for parking at the church.  Yea!  Win-win and it's free.

I'm planning to do a little shopping this morning.  Fashion Bug was kind enough to send me a coupon so I'm going to see if I can find a pair of shoes I actually like (I am so picky) for work.  I am loving some of the new Sketchers' styles.  I hope they have them.  In my size.  And they feel good.

Lunch is at Sharky's Cafe with the Civic Club.  I'm the president of that little group.  By default.  I'm the only member under 60 and no one else wants the job.  This year was spent learning my way around...and getting cut off at the knees by the older ladies who have been in the club since dinosaurs roamed the earth forever.  They want me to run things, but they want me to run it exactly the way it's always been.  I'm trying to get them to see that's not working.  There are less than 20 members left and the majority of those are over 70.  Meetings are exactly like church board meetings and if you've ever sat through one of those, you know what I'm talking about....endless cycles of arguing and nothing accomplished.  I have one more year to serve and I have some ideas to try and save the club.  If they keep finding excuses I'll be done after next year....and so, most likely, will the club.

Later it's off to church.  Yea!!  Tim will probably still be working at the church so I'll be taking his aunt on my own.  Not so "yea!", but what can you do?  She needs to go and I keep praying something will sink in, though God's going to have to speak really loud because she's deaf as a stone.

I need to get showered and get going so here's this week's Saturday Share:

Skip over to Allume to read a review of the new cookbook Real Fast Food.  It's more than just a cookbook, it's a time-management tool.  It's full of recipes to help you eat healthier, but also ways to make things easier.  I don't know about you, but I am all for anything simple in the kitchen!

Over at A Deeper Story we are cautioned that "Hell Should Never Be A Punchline."  It isn't that we treat it as a joke, but do we take it seriously enough?  It's a thought provoking post.

Ann Voskamp always has something that touches the heart and this week's no different.  Be blessed by her post about When You Feel Like Everyone is Bigger, Better, Smarter...

Dawn at Beneath the Surface is back after suffering a loss in the family.  She shares with us excerpts from past spiritual journals.  They are so joyful!  She is inspiring me to be more creative in my own journaling.

And lastly, the Pinterest pin of the week:

I always feel so lame when I comment on the simple stuff, but I just realized we don't have Fashion Bug here. Hm. We used to.

Get yourself something girlie, Girl!

Now that's taking 'dirt cheap' to a new level! Free is even better!
Board meetings are the same across the board aren't they? (ok, that pun really wasn't intended!)
