Saturday Share - Jan. 19, 2013

I'm a bit of a blogging slacker...no post yesterday and here it is nearly noon and I'm just getting to the Saturday Share.  What can I say?  Life's been a little, uhm, well....off.  Yeah, off.  That sounds about right.

First off, I have been hacking and wheezing up a storm this week.  I finally saw the doctor Thursday.  The good news is that I seem to be clear of all infections...though he seems to think my relapse last weekend was a mild case of the flu.  Again.  Anyway....  My ears have cleared out, my throat looks good, and my lungs sound fine.  I just have what he called "residual bronchial spasms."  Really that's just a nice way of saying "hacking till you see stars and pee."  He prescribed an inhaler.  It's preventative, used 3-4 times a day to keep me from having "spasms."  He also prescribed a tiny little gel pill for the cough.  I don't know what's in it, but it works good!  If it weren't for the dogs and my nocturnal child I'd have slept all night straight through.

Megan's had a rough week, too.  She's dealing with depression again and I think her weird work and sleep pattern just makes it worse.  On top of that she seems to have had a run-in with the flu, too.  She's slept the better part of 4 days.  She did ride to work with me yesterday so she could do some driving (she still has a permit) and put in some applications at other places with (hopefully) better schedules.  It was a little too much too soon as she spent the rest of the day until about 10:00 sleeping.  She seems a lot better today, but went for a walk with her ex's mom...I hope that's not too much.

Well, I hear the laundry calling (literally, we have a Samsung washer and dryer and they play a little "song" when they finish a load) so I'd better get to the Saturday Shares.

I am currently all about organization.  We are going to do something with our poor, neglected bedroom one of these days.  All ideas seem to involve tearing out the pitiful existing closet and creating a new, improved, MUCH larger one on the other side of the room.  Ideas range from buying cabinets at IKEA to using closet systems to create what we want and then figuring out how to cover it up (curtains, doors....?)  That's where my mind is, so this week's shares are some of the awesome organization ideas I've seen...not necessarily all for closets.  Our house is slightly larger than a refrigerator box cozy and without a lot of storage so I am always looking for ideas for any space.

I love this idea from IKEA.  We don't have room to allow for all that walk-through space, but I love the shelving and we could just move the curtains back to be right in front of it.

The Closet Factory offers this beautiful solution.

My heart longs for the kind of kitchen organization offered by Organizing Options.  I just know I was meant to have a kitchen like that.  I have no idea what went wrong.

The Tiny House Blog offers some great ideas for storage in a small house.

I Heart Organizing is a blog that shares a multitude of DIY projects.  Cute and practical.

Move Builder did a lot of the work for me....and has a list of the 10 best home organization blogs.

And for the Pinterest share....here's the link to my Handy Tips board.  You'll find links to several organizing sites there.

Okay, you all get out there and enjoy your weekend.  I'm going to go bake some cookies to take to church.
