The idea of Pondering is to take the prompt its creator, Brenda Youngerman, provides each week and run with it....ponder it in any way you want.
This week's prompt is: knot
Honestly, the first thing that pops into my head when I see the word "knot" is my best friend from high school. Her last name was Knot. We used to have a whole repertoire of jokes about her name. I only remember one, though, and that's because I still use it. Every time I comb my hair and hit a snag I say "Dana, get out of my hair!" She hasn't been a Knot for at least 25 years, but I will always think of her that way. We had some great times.
The other thing that comes to mind is "knots" in my stomach. I hate conflict and nothing gives me more "knots." When I post things on Facebook that are of a political or controversial nature...there are certain people I block from seeing it just to avoid arguments. My cousin is the main one I block. His views on nearly everything are the polar opposite of mine. While I don't agree with him, he is entitled to his opinions and I ignore those posts. He, on the other hand, feels the need when he sees something on my wall that he disagrees with to pounce on me and start spewing absolutely hateful and hurtful things. Just today he called me racist....something I definitely am not. My friends come in all colors and nationalities and I am betting a survey of his friends would turn up a whole lot of people just like him. He is one of those people who live to jump on anyone who thinks differently than they do. Aurgh...just thinking about him gives me knots.
Well, that's my take on "knots." Sorry I didn't have longer to play today, but I have to get ready to head back to work. It's going to be 90 degrees this afternoon....so about 100 on the bus. I always treat the kids to something the last day, but am doing it today instead. I'm loading up a cooler with ice cold Pepsi and bottles of water. It will be much appreciated today.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Pondering!

Love the picture~~~
Thanks for pondering with me!
Wonderful post. Not naughty at all.
I get knots in my stomach a lot. Try not to do that...it leads to ulcers. Trust me.
Your cousin would give me knots too! I went out earlier today (to buy fabric softener and a sandwich for my dinner since I'm home alone tonight) and it was hot, humid and stuffy. Thunderstorm blew through a couple of hours ago and dropped the temperature considerably! Pepsi still sounds wonderful but I'll be good!
You will indeed be a very popular on the bus with that stash of cool drinks, what a sweet thing to do! As for your cousin, he sounds like a real knot-head. You are wise to block him from your posts, I think I'd be blocking him right out of my life! :-)
