FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It looks sunny and beautiful, but it's a bit chilly.  There was a mild frost this morning.

I am thinking... that I need to get moving and get a shower since we have places to be today.

I am thankful... to all the soldiers...past, present, and future...who have served our country and fought to protect our freedom.

In the kitchen... a pan of brownies is cooling on the counter waiting to be taken to a gathering of church leadership that includes lunch.

I am wearing... pajamas with pictures of postcards and postal stamps from around the world.

I am creating... a diet and exercise plan to get serious about as soon as school is out next week.

I am going... to spend a lot less time on Facebook this summer.

I am wondering...where this country is headed.

I am reading... nothing but the Bible.  I sort of forgot how hectic it gets this time of year at work so reading is on hold.

I am hoping... that I will find a new job before school starts back up in August.  The early, early mornings and winter driving are wearing thin.

I am looking forward to... spending time with friends today.

I am learning... to be the one to reach out in friendship.

Around the house... we've decided to forget about adding on to the house.  Instead, we want to remove the wall dividing the living room and one of the bedrooms to create a large living room...go ahead with the remodel of the master bedroom...finish the front porch...and close in the back deck to create a mud room/storage area.

I am pondering... how any human being can commit the kind of atrocities on another human being that we see happening.  Thinking of that poor British soldier.  Such evil is loose in the world.

A favorite quote for today... When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'.
One of my favorite things... licking the beaters when I make cookies.  Yeah...I know it's like playing Russian roulette with salmonella, but it's sooooo nummy!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Work, work, and more work.  I will be on the run this week as the school year wraps up.

A peek into my day... getting a shower as soon as I finish up here, a lunch meeting of church leaders, and later going to see friends.

Thanks Stacy for the uplifting message. I'm so glad the God boxes were a hit. I would love to see pictures of the miniature versions you all did for Mother's day. It made my day! :)
