Wednesday Hodgepodge - Vacation Edition

Click the button to visit The Wednesday Hodgepodge.  Join in the fun or just visit the other players.

1. What is a pet peeve you have when vacationing?
~  Waiting in long lines...waste of my vacation time.  And unruly kids.  I love kids.  Kids are great.  But NOT when they are being brats and ruining everyone else's vacation.

2. Would you describe yourself as a light packer or do you need everything in your closet plus the kitchen sink?
~ The kitchen sink?  Honey, I pack the kitchen sink and the bathtub.  I am awful at packing.  I want to make sure I have something for any occasion that comes up.  Usually, about half of it never gets used.

3. What's the best lesson a child ever taught you?
~  Be curious and excited about everything.

4. Share one piece of advice you'd give a recent graduate as they attempt to enter the job market?
~ Don't be a job snob.  Take whatever job pays the bills for now.  You can keep looking for the dream job while you work and no job is "beneath you."  Any honest work is good work.

5. What's your favorite lemon something?
~ Lemonade.  I don't like lemon otherwise.

6. Flat sandal, wedge, heel...your favorite footwear?
~ Guess it would be flat because as soon as it's warm enough I live in flip-flops.

7. What do you like best about a beach holiday? If you're not a beach lover (GASP!!) what do you dislike the least?
~  The sun.  No, wait....the sound of the surf.  Oh, maybe the ocean breeze.  Or yummy seafood.  Or....  Who am I kidding.  I love EVERYTHING about the beach.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
~ Summer's calling!

#7.....I love, love LOVE your answer there. Great one.

As for the lesson learned from kids...I like that too.

OUTDOOR SEASIDE SCULPTURES is my link for today.

Hope your Wednesday will be a glorious one, all day long!!

What a week, no HodgePodge for me.

But...I tend to pack light and buy when I get there, if needed. I went to New Orleans for a long girls' weekend a while back, and the cab driver picked up my one bag and looked for another...

I'm not really wild about lemon either. I agree about the job question also :)

We may very well be related because our answer to #2 is almost identical! Oh, waiting in long lines is just the worst!

I am the worst packer also. You should see my husband. He has to pack the van a certain way. He won't let me help (which that is ok by me).

Hi Anni! Haven't seen you since the days of Thursday Thunks (and all the rest of those). Good to "see" you. I hope your Wednesday is glorious as well. :)

Ellen...You and my aunt. I swear that woman could pack for a two week European vacation in a backpack.

Colletta...Hello and welcome! I will be sure to shoot over for a visit at your blog.

April...something tells me it would be a bad thing for us to ever travel together. LOL I haven't flown anywhere since the airlines started restricting luggage. I live in fear of the day I do.

Rochelle...that would be soooo okay with me, too. Tim doesn't pack. I do all the packing when we go away.

Rebecca Jo...it took me a while to think of it. Had to run through all the lemon things I don't like to remember the one I do.

Debby...Yes, life is just better at the beach. :)

Love lemonade, can't pack either and I paid for that literally on the last trip I went on and staying curious I believe keeps one from aging. Great answers as always, Stacy.

Hi Wendy! Cruising blogs...does that mean you're moved and settled in?

ps...to answer your question about the town the sculptures are in...it's called Rockport, Texas. About a 20-30 minute drive from Corpus Christi.

DD...so sorry. I missed you. Our posts must have crossed. Yes, the beach is the best. It's my happy place. :)

Thanks, Anni! It's going on my list of places I hope to get to see.

I think my patience is wearing thin because I don't handle bratty kids like I used to.

I am with you about the ocean. I like the sound of the surf and the seafood and the quiet, relaxing calm.
