What?! I'm not really that mean. Well, the secondary kids get their treats on the bus, so I guess they are kind of sugared up when they get off the bus, but a lot of them have been chugging coffee, cola, and energy drinks all day so I doubt I do much damage there. As for the little ones, they get their treats as they are getting off the bus. That way it's up to Mom and Dad whether they can eat it then or not (plus it keeps the garbage off the bus floor!).
Oh, I got Valentines' Day stuff for the family, too. The newest Bond DVD for Tim.

A Duck Dynasty book for Megan (that I'm going to read when she is done with it).

Megan and I are cooking dinner tonight...steaks (they've been marinating since last night) and fried potatoes and onions.

Yes, this was taken from my seat... front row, center. I could have reached out and touched the man if the nice security guard standing right beside me wouldn't have tackled me. LOL |
But that meaning of "live" isn't the one I thought of first. No, I thought of it with the short i first. I think that might have something to do with my One Word theme word for the year...intentional. To me living is being intentional and if you're being intentional, then you're living.
I think of living two ways. The first is embracing what comes your way in life and making the most of it...good and bad. I guess that would be kind of a when-life-hands-you-lemons-make-lemonade philosophy. The other way I view living is to make things happen. It's not sitting around waiting for life to hand you the lemons, it's planting the seeds, tending the plants, and picking the fruits yourself.

Happy Valentine's Day! Sounds like a perfect day with some nice gifts and a special meal. I am going to make brownies and order a pizza. We are going out this weekend for a nice dinner. My husband doesn't like the crowds.....
OMG.... I want to come over for the steak dinner and I WANT TO GO SEE TOBY KEITH!!! We were just talking about that yesterday..... I would love to see him live... and there's not a lot of people I can say that about!
Thanks for Pondering with me
Steak, cupcakes for dessert and James Bond for . . . well, for dessert, too! Can't think of a better Valentines Day :)
My husband only gives out the treats as the kids get off the bus to go home. That way no trash. He usually will give them out on not the actual holiday since many of them have parties in the classes and their parents take them home. I've got a big bag of suckers that he really needs to get rid of for me.
Happy Valentine's Day! For years hubby and I would cook a steak since it was the middle of winter and we couldn't afford to go out. Brought back memories.
Wow, sounds like an awesome Valentine's Day! I love what you said-
"living is being intentional and if you're being intentional, then you're living." I need to put that in my quotes to remember.
Debby...Happy Valentine's Day to you, too! If Megan and I hadn't cooked, we'd have gone out this weekend, too. We're too tired during the week to do a night out and enjoy it.
Brenda...Where are you? I would love to have you go see Toby with me! Dinner, by the way...fabulous.
Judy...Thank you. We like to celebrate, but not get all crazy.
Tracy...The whole garbage thing didn't work out today. They came out of the school with so much candy and they'd had a party so they were already hopping on sugar and caffeine. I have some candy leftover now, too. :(
Retired...I'm glad I stirred happy memories for you. :)
Mary...Thank you. I am honored you think I said something quote-worthy. :)
Love me some Duck Dynasty. You will have to let me know if the book is good. I really also want to see Skyfall. Maybe I will rent it this weekend.
I love your final thoughts... we must find a way to live with what life brings us, and then we must find a way to push beyond that so that we can live life to it's fullest... perfect! A great response to the prompt... and yes, that was an AWESOME concert seat!!!
